Dennis Lundblad
I was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on July 13, 1959, but since my father was in the Air Force, I didn't stay there very long. (I still pull for the Pirates, though.) I spent some time in Maine, Massachusetts and Illinois before landing in Georgia at the ripe old age of seven. We moved a few more times after that, ending up in Virginia, where I attended high school and college (Bridgewater of Virginia, class of '84.) I attended Lexington Theological Seminary in Lexington, KY after that, earning a Master of Divinity degree in 1987. I served churches in Greenville, NC and Atlanta, GA before coming to Asheville, NC in 1994. I am currently the pastor of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Asheville.
I am the third of five children, and I guess there must be something to that
"middle child" stuff after all. In 1981, I married the lovely Sandra Lovelace,
without whose love and support I probably would never have finished college. We have two
children: Peter, age 12, and Allison, age 8.
My older brother set me to reading "Prentice Alvin" about ten years ago, and I
haven't been able to resist an Orson Scott Card novel since. Other authors whose
work I'm fond of include Robert Silverberg, Anne
McCaffrey, Barbara Hambly and Raymond Feist. I enjoy music (bluegrass, classical and pop)
and like to play guitar and mandolin. I have become addicted to trout fishing, and hope to
remain as long as I can in the mountains of Western North Carolina.
